Director
Sammi is a seasoned logistics specialist with an MBA in Logistics and over 15 years of hands-on experience in the global freight forwarding and supply chain industry.
She spent 10 successful years at Kuehne + Nagel, gaining comprehensive knowledge across all areas of international freight operations.
Sammi later joined Orbis Global Logistics, a prominent New Zealand-owned forwarder, where she played a key role in developing and nurturing strategic relationships across domestic and international markets.
Her capacity to integrate global systems with local expertise distinguishes her in the industry.
Recognised for her innovative approach and commitment to providing client-focused solutions, Sammi offers a formidable blend of industry insight, operational excellence, and a vast professional network. Her dedication to service and innovation consistently produces value-driven, comprehensive logistics outcomes.
Rob Gilhooly
Director
Rob has established a distinguished career in logistics, holding senior management roles across Australia and New Zealand for over three decades.
He served as New Zealand's General Manager for Express Logistics and Toll Global Forwarding before founding his own logistics company, Lead Logistics, in 2011. In 2014, Lead Logistics entered a joint venture with Kerry Logistics Network in Australia and New Zealand, where Rob became Managing Director for Oceania.
After 30 years in the industry, Rob left in 2023 to explore other interests. However, his enduring passion for logistics and belief in Horizon Global Logistics’ capabilities and potential drew him back into the sector.
Rob is highly proficient in logistics management and has a solid understanding of supply chain operations, providing added value to customers.
He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business and a Diploma in Shipping Business.
Outside of work, Rob is a keen boating enthusiast who enjoys spending time on the water with his family and friends.
Rebecca Thomson
National Operations Manager
Rebecca has worked in the industry for more than 20 years.
She has previously held roles as a key account manager, corporate account manager, and client relationship manager at Ceva, Kuehne + Nagel, Orbis Global Logistics, and Scan Global Logistics.
Rebecca has a deep and practical understanding of all facets of freight forwarding and logistics. She brings a diverse foundation in account management and building relationships with people from all walks of life.
Rebecca is energised by the diverse challenges presented by the logistics industry, and she thrives on providing effective solutions for her customers.
Rebecca’s contribution is characterised by her expertise in relationship management, her project management skills, and her high levels of financial acumen.
Outside the world of logistics, Rebecca shares a passion for the outdoors and her two dogs.
